The United States has elected a Black man as President! But what does this mean for the civil rights movement? the status of Affirmative Action? Let's discuss it!

Well I say that this is still an uphill journey for us in this movement for more civil unity. Martin Luther King Jr. told us that he may not get to the mountain top but last night we did, but it doesn't stop there. We have to see what lies ahead on the other side. Everyone knows that when you look at a mountain, you always see the pretty clear side, but there are parts of the mountain that the sun does not hit, the dark and rough side. We have to prepare ourselves for what lies ahead. Second, this election was not a gift to black people. This was not a down payment on social equality, nor was it a bailout for years of social injustice. This was America, the country that says ALL men are created equal, stood up and said enough is enough. So Affirmative Action in this case meanings nothing to what is to come.
